Is it legal for you to fly your drones?
Yes, it is legal for us to fly. We have an Operator ID, Flyer ID and several qualifications including the A2 Certificate of Competence (A2CofC) and General Visual Line of Sight Certificate (GVC). These qualifications, combined with our commercial insurance policy and our strict adherence to the Drone & Model Aircraft Code, means that our operations are all legal. We use planning software to assess the safety and legality of all our flights and to ensure that weather conditions are optimal. If you have any concerns or questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
What qualifications do you have?
Fraser, our Remote Pilot, has an A2 Certificate of Competence (A2CofC) and a General Visual Line of Sight Certificate (GVC). He also holds a Level 4 Diploma in the Remote Piloting of Unmanned Aircraft Systems for Commercial Operation.
Are you insured?
Yes, we hold Commercial-grade Insurance for a Drone Operator from Coverdrone, one of the leading insurers of this type in the UK. This includes £5,000,000 Public Liability insurance and Professional Indemnity Insurance.
Where do you fly?
Being based in Louth, we mainly fly in Lincolnshire. We love flying near our home town and in the Lincolnshire Wolds, but also on the coast around Grimsby, Cleethorpes, Mablethorpe and Sutton-on-Sea. As business dictates, we will fly anywhere in the UK.
Can you take a nice picture of my house for me?
Yes! We would be delighted to take a nice picture of your house for you. Please contact us to discuss your requirements.
How do I order your services?
Please see the section ‘Ordering Services’ on this website for full details of how to order. Alternatively, please call us on 07777 926888 to place your order.
How large can your pictures be?
We take pictures with up to 48MP resolution, so our images can easily be enlarged up to A2 size (23¼” x 16½” or 594 x 420 mm). Most customers enjoy images between 5” x 7” (127 x 178 mm) and A3 (16½” x 11¾” / 420 x 297 mm). We would be happy to discuss your requirements with you. We also can produce wide panoramas and square fish-eye images.
What drones do you fly?
We mainly fly the DJI Mini 4 Pro, as we believe that this is the best small drone that money can buy. Flying this drone allows us the maximum flexibility to service our customers and provides them with spectacular imagery of up to 48MP and 4K Video. However, we have access to other drones for specific missions and have experience of flying the DJI Mavic and Matrice series too. As the business develops, we will invest further in our drone fleet.
What weather conditions can you fly in?
Our drones are small, but remarkably stable. When you see them in flight, they may seem to bob about, but their camera platforms remain stable in wind conditions up to 22 mph / 36 km/h. We do not fly when the wind is above this level for the safety of our customers and for the quality of our imagery.
Our drones are not waterproof, so we don’t fly when precipitation is expected, nor do we fly when temperatures are below freezing. We monitor conditions above ground level to ensure that we do not exceed any safety limits at higher levels.
Other weather conditions can affect the safety systems on our drones so we also keep an eye on the Kp geomagnetic storm index.
Do I own the images that you take?
No. When you purchase images from us, you own the right to use them for the purposes which we have agreed, but FMC Drone Services retains all ownership of any images we create.
What are your terms of business?
Please contact us for a copy of our Terms and Conditions. We will also provide these when you place an order with us.
