New pictures for a New Year!

2025 has started with Fraser taking advantage of cold and sunny conditions to take some stunning new images of Louth.

Louth Twin Spires

Taken with a wide-angle lens from above the centre of Louth, this image looks west towards the Wolds and showcases Louth’s two tallest Spires – the 88m tall St James’ Church in the distance and the Old Market Halls Spire (Now Yorkshire Trading) in the foreground.  It also shows Mercer Row and the Cornmarket on a winter’s market day.

Newmarket to Louth

Many people have asked me for pictures of different parts of Louth.  This image was taken from above the Louth Livestock Market looking north.  It shows a view from Newmarket looking down Aswell Street towards the town centre and out to the Hospital, Fairfield Industrial Estate and beyond towards the North Wolds.   Clearly visible are the Town Hall, parts of Upgate and Lee Street as well as the Georgian West side of Louth.

Louth West

Taken from above the Cornmarket and facing west this picture gets us closer to St James’ Church as well as showing Upgate, Westgate and Gospelgate.  King Edward VI Grammar School and the historic Mansion House are all clearly visible.
